A Memorable Membership Fellowship Night

The Rotary Club of Alabang-Lampara held its Membership Fellowship Night with the theme of Retro 70’s last August 26, 2009 at the Forum Hall of PAGCOR, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, Paranaque City.

It was a very successful activity attended by 25 Rotarians, 8 RCC, 6 Rotaractors,7 Interactors and 15 guests; the Moderators were Rotarian Minda Santillan and Rotarian Glyze Villanueva. The Meeting/ Fellowship was called to order by Charter President Danny Abinoja at around 6:30 pm, followed by the Invocation of Rotarian Fr. Carmelo Horlador . While having a sumptuous dinner, the Rotaracts and Interacts headed by Rotarian Mira Ramirez performed a wonderful dance, song and play number at the same time . All the guests and Rotarians were introduced by Past President Mar Castillo. Charter President Danny Abinoja recognized the efforts of the Past Presidents who joined a newly chartered club by giving them the President Emeritus Award, thus, Past President Mar Castillo and Past President Lito Sacdalan received this prestigious award. Certificates for Outstanding Rotarian were also given to Rotarians in recognition of his/her active participation in all club activities which in turn contributed to attainment of the mission and goals of the club, thereby exemplifying the qualities of a dedicated and committed Rotarian which is necessary in pursuing the Rotary’s theme for the year 2009-2010 “ The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands”.

The induction/oath taking of RCC Rotaracts and Interacts was officiated by Charter President Danny Abinoja and pins were given to all Rotaractors and Interactors.

The Meeting/Fellowship was indeed very lively, happy and memorable because of the presentations made by the different committees together with the Interacts and Rotaracts. Cash awards were given to the best performers; the Rotaracts / Interacts garnered the third place. The Service Committee headed by Past President Mario Castillo, with all boys wearing white long sleeves and maong pants danced with the tune of Totoy Bibo, got the second place. The best performance was awarded to the Club Administration Committee, headed by President Elect Alex Flora, whose beautiful Rtn. lady members (Rtn. Sim Dayrit, Rtn. Shirley Bulaquia, and Rtn. Hazel Ong) dolled up with very colorful blouses, nice mini-skirts with matching hairdos/make-over, and boots, while Rtn Dr. Frederick Francisco and Rtn.Sherwin Canonigo wore their 70’s look and did their inspiring, superb, excellent song performance coupled with back-up singers. Fellowship and dancing followed with the male and female D.I.s around as they danced with the Rotarians to enjoy more of the night which ended at around 11:00 pm. Truly, being a Rotarian is a life of service full of enjoyment, camaraderie and meaningful experiences.
